- The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe was initially against cryptocurrencies and issued a complete ban. In March 2020, it was announced that the Reserve Bank is developing a regulatory sandbox for cryptocurrency companies in the country. This will help the bank decide if a particular company can be allowed to be run independently. The country is also partnering with Apollo Fintech to develop a gold-backed cryptocurrency for the country.
